Summary
ToldYou is a prediction market platform on the Solana blockchain. We collect the minimum information needed to run the service and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. This page explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have.
What we collect
- Wallet addresses — when you connect a wallet to trade or create markets, we record the public address on-chain trades originate from. This is inherently public on Solana.
- Profile information — the optional username, avatar, and bio you choose when editing your profile. Stored against your wallet address.
- Email address — if you sign up with email through Privy, your address is stored by our auth provider (Privy) for login. We don't email-market you.
- Comments and market metadata — anything you publicly post (a market question, a comment) is stored against your wallet address.
- Server logs — basic request logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp, requested path) for security and debugging. Retained for 30 days.
What we don't collect
- Cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Your private keys — never. Wallets are self-custodial.
- Third-party analytics that profile you across the internet. We may use first-party privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Plausible) for aggregate page-view stats — never personally identifiable.
How we use information
We use the information above to run the service: show you your portfolio, let other users see your public profile and trades, resolve markets, and prevent abuse. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't share data with third parties except service providers strictly necessary to operate the platform (e.g. our auth provider, our database host).
On-chain data is permanent
Trades, market creations, and resolutions happen on the Solana blockchain. They're public, immutable, and cannot be deleted. Connecting your wallet to the service makes those on-chain events visible against your public address. That's how blockchains work — there's no way for us (or anyone) to remove on-chain history.
Your choices
- Profile data: edit or clear your username, avatar, and bio at any time from the profile menu.
- Comments: delete any comment you posted from the comment menu.
- Auth: disconnect or remove your Privy account from privy.io.
Children
ToldYou is not directed to anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the service, contact us and we'll handle it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated via the app.
